FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I take care of my wooden cutting board?
Do not soak wooden items in water. After washing with mild dishwashing liquid, rinse, towel dry, then air dry before putting away in an enclosed space.
To take care of your item, occasionally rub with food grade mineral oil (readily available at your local hardware store.) For additional luster, apply beeswax. We recommend Clapham's Beeswax 870-3008 Salad Bowl Finish
(a blend of beeswax, carnauba wax, and mineral oil). Use a different cutting board for raw ingredients like meat, poultry and fish than ready-to-eat foods. For more information refer to USDA guidance on safe food handling
Your engraved boards are too nice to cut on!
Cogworks boards are intended for everyday use. Therefore, each design is deeply engraved ie. "burned on" to the surface. Like the glassware, linens, plates and flatware you use everyday our boards are made to be enjoyed. Most people use the back for heavy cutting tasks and serve on the front.
How do I take care of my lazy susan?
All our lazy susans feature a durable furniture finish. This finish is not suitable for cutting on. Use a trivet, coaster, or saucer before placing hot food items on a lazy susan. Treat your turntable in the same manner as you would treat a table. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.
Do you sell spare parts?

Can I have an item personalized for a birthday, wedding, graduation, leaving gift, anniversary etc?

Your mechanical art is educational -for what age do you recommend your cogs?
Our mechanical art is fun and educational. However, small parts pose a choking hazard. For this reason, our gear mechanisms
are not for children under 4 years of age and for children who put objects in their mouths.
I am buying an item as a gift. Can you wrap it and enclose a message?
Yes, gift wrapping and enclosed messages is available by special arrangement.
